Twenty years ago today Katie and I promised each other that we would travel through the valleys and ascend the peaks of this life together.
I’m grateful that over the last twenty years there have been more peaks than valleys – far more.
She makes the tough times more bearable, and she makes the good times more sweet. We have laughed together, and we have cried together. We have felt the sunshine on our faces more days than we I deserve.
The picture above is one of my favorites. It’s at Disneyland where they do a meet and greet with the Frozen characters. It’s a little tough to see, but Katie is taking a picture of our kids, and she is totally ignoring the “snow” falling around her. That’s Katie – always thinking of others. Always selfless.
In some ways my life has turned out differently than I expected. That’s a good thing, and that is largely due to Katie’s influence.
Katie, thank you for the last twenty years. You are the love of my life. I love you!
